Textile Art Show – “Munecas Migrantes”
April 30 @ 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm

An exposition of textile art by Terry Stanford. Art for a cause. Terry creates sensitive pieces intended to heighten awareness of the international migration crisis and resulting human suffering and deaths in the borderlands.
Sales of these cloth dolls and stitched stories (made from recycled fabrics and migrants’ clothing found in the desert) will help Terry continue her work to shed light on the humanitarian crisis at the border. Additionally, a portion of sale proceeds will be donated to the Patagonia-based, non-profit organization, “Voices From the Border”. India Aubry, President of Voices From the Border, will be on hand to offer words about her organization’s mission and humanitarian efforts.
Terry also volunteers her time helping to install hand-crafted crosses marking the places where migrants have died in the desert borderlands. The memorial project, known as “Donde Mueren Los Sueños/Where Dreams Die”, was created by locally renowed Tucson artist Alvaro Enciso. We’re pleased to say that Alvaro who will also be in attendance.
